About us - or: How we ended up at 1,740 m?

What happens when a passionate restaurateur, three fluffy Akita dogs, a mountain-loving husband and two great employees from the "Punschkuchl" suddenly get a taste of the mountain air?
Exactly: you move to the Rotgüldenseehütte - or as we affectionately call it: the RogSi.

I'm Anna - and my love of the mountains began in 2017 in a rather unusual way: on a long-distance hike from Graz to Monaco. Over 1,600 kilometres later, I knew: metres of altitude, hut life and dog paw prints in the morning dew - that's my world.

My love of gastronomy has been growing for much longer - for over 20 years now, we have been warming our guests in winter with home-made mulled wine and spoiling them with countless punch and food creations in the Punschkuchl, our punch stand in the Tulln Christmas village.

In 2024, RogSi came into my life and suddenly everything made sense:
My three great passions (dogs, mountains, gastronomy) united in one place. Since then, my husband Tom, our three Akita girls, our fabulous team Sandra and Bibi, and I have been at home up here in summer. Incidentally, Bibi brings a fourth Akita from our kennel with her - which means that we not only have fresh air, but also lots of fluffy company and a family atmosphere, because not only the dogs, but also the girls are my family.

We cook what we love ourselves - regional, sustainable, honest and with a lot of heart. Whether it's Kaiserschmarrn, soup, bread or strudel: nothing comes out of the packet with us - except perhaps a handkerchief if someone gets sentimental at sunset.

The RogSi is our place of strength - and we are happy to welcome everyone who is just as in love with the mountains as we are: whether early risers, altitude metre collectors, cheese dumpling fans or people who "just want a quick drink" and are still there two hours later.

So, lace up your hiking boots - we look forward to seeing you!
See you soon at the Hütt'n - with a view, Akita and apple strudel.

Weather & tour planning

The weather in the mountains can change quickly and has a decisive influence on your safety and mountain experience. Careful weather planning is therefore essential for every mountain tour!

Weather planning: from the big to the small

For a reliable weather assessment, we recommend first looking at the large-scale weather situation and then moving on to local forecasts. We can recommend the following weather services:

  • Comprehensive presentation of the general weather situation in the Eastern and Western Alps with important parameters (temperature, zero degree limit, wind, fresh snow)
  • Detailed descriptions for individual Alpine regions and mountain groups
  • Ideal for an initial overview and basic tour planning
  • Updated once a day.
